Two delegations from the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, and the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Saliu Akanmu Adetunji, Aje Ogungunniso 1, are currently in Benin Republic to observe the proceedings of the court case involving Chief Sunday Adeyemo, also known as Sunday Igboho.

Olubadan had earlier said the delegation was sent in order to allay the fears of several people, including protesters who besieged his palace although he did not disclose the identity of the delegation sent to observe the court proceedings.

Ooni of ife, Oba Ogunwusi had also set up a 28-member committee made up of notable South-West personalities to look into the arrest of Yoruba nation agitator, Sunday Adeyemo aka Sunday Igboho, and other issues relating to the South-West.
A member of Ooni’s delegation who spoke with newsmen stated that their purpose in Benin Republic is to get the true situation of things and report back to the Ooni of Ife.
