The National President of the Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics, Anderson Ezeibe, has said the union will continue its indefinite strike until the Federal Government meets its demands.
ASUP had on April 6 embarked on a nationwide strike. Among the demands of the union are the implementation of the ASUP/FG agreement of 2010, and the payment of salaries and arrears of the new minimum wage in some state-owned polytechnics.
Ezeibe said in a statement that every polytechnic is observing the strike and compliance level is very high. He also stated that they will continue to persevere and they are committed to continuing with the strike until there was a directive from the national body.
