Health workers in Ogun State said they would withdraw their services at the public health institutions by Tuesday midnight due to the alleged high rate of insecurity in the state.
The health workers in the state under the aegis of the National Association of Nigerian Nurses and Midwives and Nigerian Medical Association disclosed this today.
While the chairman of the NANNM Roseline Solarin affirmed the strike action through a communique, the chairman NMA, Dr. Oladayo Ogunlaja, confirmed the planned strike in a phone interview with Newsmen.
Ogunlaja said the strike was a joint resolution between the NMA and NANNM, saying that they are going ahead with the strike despite the release of their abducted colleagues until the government does the needful.
He said that until the government ensures the safety of health workers at their workplaces, the strike would continue.
