Former Lagos Governor, Alhaji Lateef Jakande, is dead.
He died on Thursday morning in Lagos at 91.He was a former journalist who became governor of Lagos State from 1979 to 1983. He later emerged Minister of Works under the Sani Abacha military regime (1993–98).
Jakande's death was announced by the Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-olu on his official twitter account this afternoon.
